Helmsman in a Packaged MAC environment

Over recent years the focus on security within IT environments has increased markedly from the days when Helmsman was originally developed. 

We have had several requests to see if there is any way that the MAC interface to Helmsman could be enhanced to match these more stringent requirements - but this is not possible without a major upgrade to the product.

However, there is a facility within the existing product, that one of our customers has now been using successfully for some time, which allows the use of the Helmsman MAC interface in a Packaged MAC environment.

If you’re not familiar with the Packaged MAC interface in general, a good example is documented in the standard Fujitsu manual, ‘Running Querymaster – Appendix B’.
